Even though I’ve had two separate blogs for a while, I thought I could make-do with one social media account for both blogs. Since then, I’ve had a rebrand of my romance writing persona and #WeekendDIYGirl has gotten a mind of her own and decided she wants to grow.
While this site is built as a one-stop shop for my specific products, if you’re reading this now, you love the projects I do. And you probably want to know more about those projects, or how others are doing them, or what else I’m working on. That’s where my social media sites come in.
Pinterest is where I get a lot of my inspiration. I love creating boards there with all the projects I’ve wanted to do and how others are completing them
Instagram is my most interactive platform and shows some of the future of where I see #weekendDIYGirl going. It’s also where I post interim pictures of my projects and ask you for input (right now I’ve got wallpaper choices up there).
My hope with Facebook is to bring you my homemade sewn crafts and eventually swag items, because who doesn’t love a great t-shirt with a theme?
And all of my videos on new projects will reside on YouTube. I also hope to have some video tutorials, so you can get tinto this DIY thing, too!
After my debacle with the “big box store” delivery chain problem, I had to switch gears, re-think, and ultimately put a hold on my first floor refresh project. The main reason I put a hold on the project is due to some health issues that had to be addressed. I wanted to have the floors done in time to address these issues, and then I could work on the other parts of the refresh project.
Because my Etsy shop has nothing in it at the moment (I’m feverishly working on a romance novel), here is a new Etsy shop that I’m loving right now. Free Spirit Crafting Company has cute handcrafted keychains, makeup bags, and jewelry among other items. They are made by free spirited designer Dana T. for those who are looking for items that reflect them or their free spirits. These are gorgeous items that would make awesome gifts for any occasion. (Roll over screenshot for direct shop link.)
I noticed that several of the offerings revolve around something needed for travel or taking something with you. Great idea since Dana is part of a couple that has a YouTube travel experience channel called Our Lives Traveled.
#weekendDIYgirl has been pretty dormant of lately, because I’ve been writing, but a few weeks ago, and again yesterday, I made progress on my next project. Yes, the same table I started in the summer! How-tos here when done!
